geoexplorer 2008 geoxh

Last Monday, a group of Surveyor come to my estate to do survey our river. What a nice equipment and costly too… Searching at web for more info on this gadget.

The new GeoXH™ handheld is setting a new standard with real-time decimeter (10 centimeter) level positioning accuracy. With high-accuracy GIS data collection capabilities, field workers can easily perform more effective mapping of infrastructure and more accurate asset inventories.

Because high accuracy positions are available in real time, utility workers, public works personnel, and others can track down buried and hidden assets with ease, and excavate cables and pipes without wasted effort or risk of damage to nearby assets. In addition, back-office data processing is eliminated, streamlining asset inventories, and as-built mapping jobs.

All the Trimble® GeoExplorer® 2008 series handhelds, including the GeoXT™ and GeoXM™, are also equipped with:

  • A high-resolution 3.5 inch VGA (480 x 640 pixel) display for a clear and crisp view of map data even in bright sunlight.
  • Enhanced connectivity with Bluetooth® wireless technology. The GeoExplorer 2008 series allows users to connect a cell phone for access to the Internet to receive real-time corrections from a VRS™ (Virtual Reference Station) network and download background map data. Users can also connect to Bluetooth-enabled laser rangefinders, barcode scanners, and digital cameras to provide additional capabilities and increased productivity in the field.
  • Windows Mobile® version 6 operating system giving users the flexibility to select any mobile GIS or field application software that best meets their specific
field requirements. In addition, access to the familiar Microsoft® software suite, including Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, and Outlook® Mobile, gives users the tools they need to maintain data integrity and effectively communicate with the office.
  • Rugged design and extended battery life allowing field workers to keep working all day, long regardless of severe weather or other variable conditions.
  • GeoExplorer 2008 series handhelds are compatible with a number of new software versions.

Since this unit was purposely made for professional level and most of this unit bought by company not individual. And to use it was not easy as other GPS made for road navigation or recreation. And it can be connected to other land survey device for more precisions result.
